2 Euro Commemorative Coin Honouring the Maltese Honey Bee

25 January 2024 – We are pleased to share the forthcoming issuing of a 2 Euro Commemorative Coin by the Central Bank of Malta honouring the endemic Maltese Honey Bee! The Foundation is happy to see its long-suggested idea of a commemorative coin finally becoming a reality soon! Disclaimer: The image does not depict the actual design of the coin.

12 February 2024 (updated) – The €2 Commemorative Coin, proposed by our Foundation honouring the endemic Maltese Honey Bee (Apis mellifera ruttneri), has now been officially announced! The Central Bank of Malta will issue the coin this September, with 80,000 coins to be minted. Keep on following our social media platforms to stay up-to-date with the latest developments!
