Last Wednesday, on February 28, 2024, in a ceremony attended by the Minister for Inclusion and Volunteering, the Hon. Julia Farrugia Portelli, the Foundation received funds for a project it had successfully applied for. This project is linked to the declaration of the Maltese Bee as the National Insect. During her speech, Minister Julia Farrugia Portelli emphasized the significance of these grants and the benefits they bring to the projects, including the Foundation’s. Also present for the fund awarding were the Chairperson of the Maltese Council for the Voluntary Sector (MCVS), Gertrude Buttigieg; the Chief Executive of the MCVS, Mauro Pace Parascandalo; the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for Inclusion and the Volunteer, Nancy Caruana; and the Commissioner for Voluntary Associations, Jesmond Saliba.
The funds, totaling €4000, will be allocated to producing a professional video aimed at increasing awareness of the Maltese Bee. This effort aligns with the Foundation’s initiative to declare it as the National Insect of Malta. The funds were provided through the Small Initiatives Support Scheme (SIS) 2024, administered by the Maltese Council for the Voluntary Sector (MCVS). We extend our gratitude for the support!

Waqt id-diskors tagħha, il-Ministru Julia Farrugia Portelli saħqet fuq l-importanza ta’ dawn l-għotjiet minħabba l-benefiċċji li joħorġu mill-proġetti li ser jibbenefikaw mill-fondi, fosthom il-Fondazzjoni! Preżenti wkoll għall-għoti tal-fondi kien hemm iċ-Chairperson tal-Kunsill Malti għas-Settur tal-Volontarjat (MCVS) Gertude Buttigieg, il-Kap Eżekuttiv tal-MCVS Mauro Pace Parascandalo, is-Segretarju Permanenti tal-Ministeru għall-Inklużjoni u l-Volontarjat Nancy Caruana u l-Kummissarju għall-Għaqdiet Volontarji Jesmond Saliba.
Il-fondi li jammontaw għal €4000 ser ikunu użati għal produzzjoni ta’ video professjonali immirat lejn żieda fl-għarfien fuq in-Naħla Maltija, fl-isfond tal-Inizjattiva imnedija mill-Fondazzjoni sabiex din tiġi dikjarata bħala l-Insett Nazzjonali ta’ Malta. Dawn il-fondi ġew mogħtija permezz tal-Iskema ta’ Appoġġ għall-Inizjattivi Żgħar (SIS) 2024 amministrati mill-Kunsill Malti għas-Settur tal-Volontarjat (MCVS). Grazzi tas-sapport!
