Since initiating our campaign to declare the Maltese Honey Bee as Malta’s National Insect, we have actively garnered support from regional and local councils, recognising them as pivotal representatives of the community. As of the end of November 2023, our initiative has already received endorsements from 3 regional councils and 30 local councils.
The South Regional Council currently ranks first (+1 from October) among the six regions in terms of support, with 100% of its local councils (12/12) endorsing our initiative. The region itself is a signatory.
The North Regional Council currently ranks second (-1 from October) among the six regions in terms of support, with 56% of its local councils (5/9) endorsing our initiative. The region itself is not a signatory.
The Port Regional Council currently ranks third (= from October) among the six regions in terms of support, with 45% of its local councils (5/11) endorsing our initiative. The region itself is not a signatory.
The East Regional Council currently ranks fourth (+1 from October) among the six regions in terms of support, with 25% of its local councils (3/12) endorsing our initiative. The region itself is a signatory.
The Regional Council of Gozo currently ranks fifth (+1 from October) among the six regions in terms of support, with 21% of its local councils (3/14) endorsing our initiative. The region itself is not a signatory.
The West Regional Council currently ranks last (-2 from October) among the six regions in terms of support, with only 20% of its local councils (2/10) endorsing our initiative. The region itself is a signatory.
