200 Species a Day become Extinct

Did you know that scientists estimate that more than 200 species a day become extinct?

Nature’s survival and resilience* depends on a fragile balance where every element, living or not, plays a vital role. If we capriciously increase, decrease or disturb any of these elements, the natural balance is lost, directly leading to negative consequences (Case in point the problem of the Oriental Hornet – https://nahlamaltija.wordpress.com/…/maltese-honeybee…/).

And Biodiversity is our life insurance! Biodiversity is the different forms of nature, including the differences between individuals in the same species!

We benefit greatly from Nature;

• In the global fight against anthropogenic climate change , and its negative effects.

• Ensure a sustainable food supply on which we depend through ecosystem services including pollination.

The Maltese Honey Bee is an important link in Nature, Agriculture and Maltese Tradition.

We need to roll up our sleeves and conserve it as soon as possible, before it’s too late!
